REMEMBER. HONOR. SALUTE.

The Tomlinson Family started Home of the Brave Brewing Company to serve America’s Finest while Remembering, Honoring, and Saluting the United States Military. We brew the finest hand-crafted beer for our troops and patriotic Americans.  Our delicious Pilot Pale Ale and 442 Go for Broke are brewed in the former Home of the Brave Victory Club below the nostalgic Wiki Waki Woo 1940’s Tropical Bar & lounge.

Take a sentimental journey back in time in our Brewseum while enjoying the freshest brewed craft beer on island. Our USO style hangout has hosted GI’s & dignitaries from around the globe for over 25 years!

Family and Beer History

Home of the Brave Brewing Company is a truly a grass roots and "expeditionary" mission (founded in 2009) to brew great craft beer for our troops and patriotic Americans.  "Serving America's Finest" & "Remember, Honor, Salute" has been our Rally Cry as we continue to build and grow our business.

The original Pilot Pale Ale was developed and home-brewed by our Brew Master, Jeff Doyle (see our Brew Crew page).  Next we received our beer wholesale/distributor license.  Maui Brewing Company agreed to brew our draft beer which we distributed to our Military Clubs in Hawaii, receiving rave reviews.

Our packaged beer followed. The famous Sprecher's Brewing Company in Wisconsin collaborated with us, brewed and bottled our Pilot Pale Ale & Remember Pearl Harbor 70th Anniversary Commemorative Dark Lager.  Cases and six packs of Pilot were featured in the NEX, AAFES, Marine Marts, and Coast Guard Exchanges.  Our Dark Lager enjoyed front row placement during the commemorative year (now a collectors item).

The Brewseum concept was started in 2009 in the museum, expanded to 901 Waimanu Street on the 4th of July 2014 and is now ranked the number 1 Brewpub on Oahu.  We pour our own beer along with great craft brews from Hawaii and the finest mainland craft.

Cousin Brian developed all the packaging, branding, and consulting that set the course for our next "leap of faith"... brewing on-site in the Home of the Brave Museum.

Our signature Pilot Pale Ale along with our 442 Go for Broke IPA is a hit in both our Wiki Waki Woo Bar and the famous Brewseum.  Look for new brews and seasonals throughout the year.

Beginnings

Started in 2009, Home of the Brave Brewing Company brewed its first draft run of Pilot Pale Ale at Maui Brewing Company. The response was fantastic and led to keg taps around Honolulu and Military Clubs on Oahu. Bottled Beer came next with the help from our friends at Sprechers in Wisconsin, first brewing our famous Remember Pearl Harbor Dark Lager, honoring the 70thAnniversary of the Pearl Harbor attack. Packaged Pilot Pale Ale was then brewed and self-distributed by Home of the Brave Beverage Company to island Military Exchanges and select upscale retailers. In July 2014, we expanded our Brewseum - a brewpub+museum concept hand-built by the Tomlinsons and now ranked the number brewpub in Honolulu (visit www.Brewseums.com) where we pour our epic brews!

Brews

Our craft recipes are created, tested/tasted, and fine tuned by our Brew Master Jeff Doyle. Jeff hails from Odell's Brewing Company in Ft. Collins, CO and has designed some of the best beers we've ever tasted. Pilot Pale Ale was his first masterpiece (our flagship brew), followed by the Commemorative Dark Lager, now a collectors item. Our newest brew, 442 Go for Broke is fantastic with 5 hop varieties and honors Hawaii's local hero's who fought in WWII. Future beers include a Landing Zone Lager, Troop Train IPA, and other unique seasonals.

Brewery

Our 1BBL Brewhouse utilizes an Electric Brewing control panel. Four 2BBL fermenters condition the beer, followed by two 2BBL brite tanks used for carbonation and doubling as serving tanks. The brew house setup is housed inside the original brewseum located in the Home of the Brave Museum. HOTBBC brews are sampled and poured in both the Wiki Waki Woo Tropical Bar & Lounge (inside the museum) and next door at the Brewseum.

Remember Pearl Harbor Mighty American Ale

This year we showcase and celebrate the accomplishments and sacrifices of America’s Greatest Generation with Home of the Brave’s Pearl Harbor 75th Anniversary Mighty American Ale!  Joining forces with Lanikai Brewing Co., HOTBBC proudly dedicates this collaborative brew to our American Hero’s who have fought and sacrificed for the freedom and liberty we enjoy today.  Its been said of our WWII Veterans and workers on the Home Front, that these were “the young men and women that saved the world."  Lest we forget, let us all REMEMBER, HONOR, & SALUTE our Brave Men and Women in our Armed Forces past and present!
